"Voice Coil" for Outboard Marine Engines

For example, drawing on decades of experience, our engineers have designed a "voice coil" for use in outboard marine engines. This coil, which is completely immersed in fuel, energizes the fuel injectors. In addition to ensuring that the electronics functioned properly, Standex developed a custom seal that isolates the electronics from its corrosive and highly combustible environment. It works so well that this engine has the highest efficiency and cleanest operating performance of any marine engine. And that ensures "smooth sailing" for this OEM and their customers!
