Standex Electronics has developed a series of low-profile safety switches for commercial and residential laundry applications. This unique switch system features a snap-in design which eliminates the need for mounting hardware and the accompanying parts and labor for mounting. The switch slides through a slot in the washer's sheet metal and is supplied as part of the washer harness.
In addition to the switch, Standex manufactures the actuator assembly that mounts (hidden) in the washer lid. This provides a complete six sigma design system which shuts down the washer when the lid is raised. These devices are capable of switching a wide variety of electrical loads — from DC logic level to 240 VAC.
Low Viscosity Fluid Level Monitoring
Thick, viscous fluids such as soap can wreak havoc with traditional liquid-level monitoring systems. So Standex engineers developed a series of patented conductivity-based liquid -evel sensors for these specific applications. These unique sensors monitor the level of thick, viscous liquids like soap and fabric softener in appliances. This allows the appliance manufacturers to store soap and fabric softener for automatic dispensing — simplifying their use for end-customers, eliminating detergent waste, and helping the environment.
