RF Variable Inductors - 10mm Series 950

Variable Inductors
  • Standex 950 series inductors are precision wound on a plastic bobbin. This results in an inductor that is much more thermally stable than competing coils with similar "Q" and tuning range characteristics.

Notes - 10mm - Series 950

  1. Minimum inductance is measured with the core halfway out of the coil form.

  2. Carbonyl E & J material cores are available 1/4", 5/16", or 3/8" long. Aluminum cores are available 5/16" long only. The core used for electrical specifications shown was a 10-32, .250" long, carbonyl "E" core. Other core lengths and materials are available.

  3. Inductance and Q shown were measured on an H.P. 4342A "Q" meter with the leads directly connected to the Q meter terminals. The start lead is connected to the low side and the shield can is grounded. Test frequency for inductances less than 1µH is 25 MHz. Test frequency for inductances more than 1µH is 7.9MHz.

  4. Start lead is connected to pin C. Finish is connected to pin F. Connections, taps and additional windings may be configured in almost any combination desired.

  5. These coils may be tuned by means of Standex tuning wrenches 55, 95, 302 or 764.

  6. Shield can may be in installed in alternate positions. Contact the factory for details.

  7. Distance from mounting surface to first turn is .22". I.D. of winding .218". Wire gauge is #36 AWG. Other wire sizes are available.

  8. Bobbin portion of coil form is polypropylene. Base material is dialphylate. Bobbin portion of coil form is available in higher temperature plastic.
