RF Variable Inductors - 7mm Series 126 & 800

Variable Inductor
  • Standex 7mm variable inductors are available shielded or unshielded and are a true 7mm square, even when shielded.

  • Series 126 is available in high temperature plastic for more severe applications.

  • Series 800 is available in higher inductance values than competing designs with a similar size.

Notes - 7mm - Series 126 & 800

  1. Minimum inductance is measured with the core halfway out of the coil form.

  2. Carbonyl E & J material cores are available 1/4", 5/16", or 3/8" long. Aluminum cores are available 1/4" or 5/16" long. The electrical specifications for series 800 were made with 6-32, 0.250" long, carbonyl "J" core through 10 1/2 turns and a .375 long carbonyl "J" core 11 1/2 to 13 1/2 turns. The electrical specifications for series 126 were made with 6-32, .250" long carbonyl "J" core through 7 1/2 turns and .375" long core for 8 1/2 turns. Other core lengths and materials are available.

  3. Inductances less than 0.1µH are calculated from readings taken at 40 MHz. Inductances greater than or equal to 0.1µH are taken at the recommended "Q" meter frequency. All inductances include Standex test fixture number 4292G. Fixture inductance is approximately .040µH.

  4. Series 800 is "closewound". Series 126 is "spacewound".

  5. Electrical winding "tap" is available on the 126 series. Contact the factory for details.

  6. The coil may be molded in various positions. Contact the factory for details.

  7. The coil may be installed in the shield can in alternate positions. Contact the factory for details.

  8. Coil form material for both series is polypropylene. Series 126 is also available in higher temperature plastic.

  9. These coils may be tuned with Standex tuning wrench 996.

  10. Series 800 is 44 TPI. The O.D. of the windings is .208. distance from the mounting surface to the first turn is .06".

  11. Series 126 is 28 TPI. The O.D. of the windings is .208. Distance from the mounting surface to the first turn is .07".
