Standex Electronics' "CM" common mode inductors
use a specially blended ferrite core material that
offers high inductance at lower frequencies and
high impedance at higher frequencies. These high
permeability toroids produce high inductance values
using a minimum number of turns of wire. Consequently,
the inductor is relatively small, keeping heat-generating
losses to a minimum, and enhancing high frequency
performance. The maximum operating temperature is
130°C.
The two windings are separated by a 3mm minimum,
thermoplastic spacer to meet UL, VDE and other safety
agency requirements for use in 220V lines. Breakdown
voltage is tested at 2500 VRMS. The standard CME
series uses a 1.5mm minimum spacer but 3mm minimum
spacers are available for lower inductance values
upon request.
Four mounting options and seven sizes are available.
Styles "B" and "T" offer improved isolation to the
mounting surface and precise terminal location for
high throughput board assembly. The maximum dimensions
shown in the data sheet reflect the highest current
rating at the highest inductance value. If these
dimensions are slightly large for your application,

to get maximum dimensions for the current rating
that you intend to use. The CMR, CMV and CMW sizes
are also available in a lower inductance, lower
profile version.
